An abundance of tradition and culture in vibrant colors, Kutch (also spelled as Kachchh) is a district of Gujarat state in western India. Covering an area of 45,652 Sq.km, it is the largest district of India.The word Kutch means something that become alternately wet and dry, which is based on the fact that Rann of Kutch becomes submerged under water during the rains. The people are very sturdy, business minded and seafaring.

Remote and thrilling could best describe Kutch. Lying in the western most part of Gujarat, Kutch is separated from the Sindh region of Pakistan by the Great Rann of Kutch. Bhuj is known as capital of Kutch and is an ideal starting point to visit the Rann of Kutch. Kutch produces some of Country's most exquisite crafts like embroidery, tie die fabrics, enameled silverware and other handicrafts. The great and little Rann of Kutch are the breeding ground of Flamingo, Pelican & Avocet and the home of the rare Indian wild ass which is now a protected species.

Kutch is a slowly picking up tourist destination in India that is attracting large number of tourists with its vast desert (the Rann of Kutch) and long coast line beaches. Kutch district is a must visit for its uniqueness along with the famous crafts and embroidery works.

Extreme climate & temperature ranges from 2 Degree Celsius in winter to 45 Degree Celsius in summer. Rainfall is very less while average annual rainfall - 14 inches.
The three main seasons are:
(i) Summer, from February to June,
(ii) Monsoon season, from July to September,
(iii) Winter, from October to January.
